The
Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation Program is an outpatient physical
therapy clinic operated by Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. The clinic
has been in operation since January 1991, and is located in the Courts
Plus Fitness Center at 186 S. West Avenue in Elmhurst. The Orthopedic
and Sports Rehabilitation Program serves the rehabilitative needs
of any individual with an orthopedic or sports-related type of injury.
Emphasis is placed on reducing pain, decreasing swelling, increasing
muscular strength, joint range of motion, and returning the patient
to the maximum functioning level. Emphasis is on the individual, and
their goals. All attempts will be made to safely and efficiently achieve
personal goals. Please note, a doctor's prescription is needed prior
to starting therapy. The
Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation Clinic is equipped with the
latest technology for all physical therapy needs. In addition, the
clinic has a cooperative agreement with Courts Plus to use their
facilities. The therapists incorporate the lap pool, jogging track,
Cybex-Eagle stregthening equipment, stairmasters, treadmills, and
other various aerobic/strengthening equipment into the patient's
treatment. These exercises are supervised and upgraded as endurance
and strength increases.
Staffing
consists of five full-time physical therapists, one physical therapist
assistant and a full-time athletic trainer/exercise physiologist.
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Please

Pediatric
Rehabilitation Program
The
Pediatric Rehabilitation Program of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital is
located within the LifePlan Center of the Courts Plus Fitness Center.
Licensed speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists,
and physical therapists provide therapy to children from ages birth
and up. Therapists us an interdisciplinary team approach. When a
child receives more than one therapy, the therapist work together
to coordinate treatment plans and family education.
Diagnoses
treated include, but are not limited to, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida,
Down Syndrome, seizure disorders, hypotonia, sensory integration
difficulties, brachial plexus injuries, oral motor dysfunction/apraxia,
motor apraxia, swallowing disorders, fine motor delay, pervasive
developmental disorder, speech and language delay, voice disorders,
and stuttering.
LifePlan
Center accepts a wide range of insurance (HMO, PPO) companies and
is affiliated with the Early Intervention Program. For more information,
