Tree plaques are available in a variety of sizes for an additional fee. (see details below). Brick Pavers
Elizabeth's Friendship Walk In Wilder Park Formal Garden Named in honor of the enduring friendship between Elizabeth Wadham, an early inhabitant of the Wilder Park Mansion, and her neighbor to the southwest, Elizabeth Case, the sale of personalized bricks provides funding for the ongoing maintenance and renovation of the Wilder Park gardens. The garden area includes winding walkways; rose, herb, and woodland gardens; annual and perennial beds; vine-covered arbors; a wedding area; flowering trees; and ornamental benches. The Hub In Berens Park The Hub in the newly renovated Berens Park offers a section for placement of personalized brick paver memorials at the entrance to the new play area. Each donation of $60 to the memorial brick areas in Wilder or The Hub will be commemorated with an 8" X 4" brick paver engraved with up to three lines of type. A maximum of thirteen characters are available per line including spaces and punctuation. Engraved letters will be filled with a black epoxy to protect the paver from the elements. An additional $5 charge will be added for heart, cross, or shamrock symbols. Pavers will be placed in a basketweave pattern, in groups of two. Requests for the placement of two or more pavers in close proximity to one another will be honored, as the pattern allows. The sale of personalized bricks provides funding for the ongoing maintenance and renovation of the Wilder Park Gardens. In addition, the sponsorship of ornamental benches and arbors, as well as a fountain centerpiece, are also available for sale. The Park District works hard to ensure the pavers are protected and the garden is beautifully maintained. Because pavers are made of natural and man-made materials, the colors can vary slightly from brick to brick and a fading of color is expected during the first couple years. The plaques are attached to the backrest of the bench. Location: Park benches may be placed at any of the Park District's twenty-three park sites. Type of benches chosen or park preference may limit the options available. Exact locations will be coordinated at the time of purchase with the park planner.
