Rec StationProgram DescriptionRec Station is a cooperative program between the Elmhurst Park District and School District #205 for first through fifth graders needing before and after school guidance in a supervised setting. Children in kindergarten will be accepted for either before school care (for morning kindergartners), or after school care (for afternoon kindergartners.) The program is held daily, Monday through Friday, from 7- 8:20 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Rec Station is a place where children have fun and feel safe before and after school. The experienced staff plans daily activities including arts and crafts, active games, group games and tournaments, quiet time, and more. Homework time is offered every afternoon. The program is relaxed and recreational in nature. RegistrationRegistration forms are available at the Wagner Community Center, or you can download the Recreation Station Program Registration form. New students will not be able to start Rec Station until 5 business days after the forms and payment have been processed. There is a three-day per week minimum registration requirement. Full-day care on public school institute days is offered for an additional fee. Financial assistance and family rates are available. Please call Wagner Community Center at (630) 993-8901 for more information or to inquire about program availability. 2008-2009 Monthly Fees & PaymentsRec Station fees are billed on 9 monthly payments during the school year. The first month’s payment is required at the time of registration. After the first child in a family is registered, the fee for the second child and each additional child is reduced by 30%. The monthly program fees are as follows:
Example: Based on 5-day afternoon only registration. Monthly bills are available at the program site on the 25th of each month. Additional fees, such as late pick up and late payment fees will be added to your bill as necessary. Program fees are paid monthly and are due on the first day of each month. Payments are accepted at the Wagner Community Center. Cash, Check, MasterCard, or Visa is accepted. A 24-hour drop box is also available at Wagner Community Center for your convenience. To charge your payment by phone, call (630) 993-8901 or fax your payment to (630) 993-8929. A $20 penalty will be added for payments made after the 1st of the month. Program fees one week in arrears will constitute immediate program dismissal. If you have an outstanding Rec Station balance then you will not be able to register for any other Park District programs. An automatic payment plan is also available. Please refer to your first bill for information. Change of Hours/DaysA schedule change may be requested based on availability. A fee of $20 will be charged to change your enrollment schedule. Any changes may take up to 5 business days after the forms and payment have been processed. Please submit a Recreation Station Request Form/Change of Days or Hours form with the new registration and also the effective date. All change requests must be submitted at the Wagner Community Center. Withdrawal from ProgramIf you wish to withdraw your child from the program, you must submit a Recreation Station Request Form/Change of Days or Hours form with the reason for dropping the program. Please submit your request 5 business days in advance of the withdrawal date. Monthly fees will then be prorated accordingly. All withdrawal requests must be submitted at the Wagner Community Center. Rec Station StaffEach site is staffed with a site director, assistant site director, and enough leaders to maintain a ratio of 1:10. The site directors and their assistants are experienced professionals with a college degree and/or experience in elementary education, recreation, or related fields. The leaders are young adults who have an interest in working with children. All staff are provided with training and are CPR/AED certified. Institute, Conference, and In-Service DaysRec Station field trips are offered on all public school institute, conference, and in-service days. Field Trip fees are $54 for a full day program and $35 for a half-day program. All registration forms must be submitted to the Wagner Community Center along with payment by the deadline.
