There's still time to purchase a tree for this year's Tree Lighting in Wilder Park! Choose your tree at Wagner Community Center. Below are a few FAQ's if you're wondering how it works:
Who can purchase a tree?
Anyone! Families, scout troops, businesses, schools, clubs – everyone is welcome to participate.
How do I know where my tree is located?
Your tree location can be chosen when the tree is purchased at the Wagner Community Center. Each tree is assigned a tree number to make it easier to find when decorating and a sign will be placed next to each tree with the business, organization or family name.
What types of ornaments are allowed on the trees?
We encourage creativity when decorating your tree but ask that you do not use the following types of materials on your tree:
• Breakable materials (i.e. glass, porcelain, ceramic)
• Edible materials (i.e. bird seed, popcorn, candy canes)
• Non-durable materials (i.e. unlaminated paper, dough)
• Valuable items
Can we add our own lights to the tree?
No – due to power restrictions, please do not add any additional lights to your tree.
When can we decorate our tree?
Groups can begin decorating their trees on Friday, November 22 and we ask that trees are decorated by Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 5.
What happens to our ornaments?
Groups are allowed to come back to retrieve their remaining ornaments from their tree any time before Wednesday, January 8. Beginning January 8, any remaining decorations will be removed by Park District staff and will not be saved.
