Elmhurst Park District lets adults in on the fun with new Adult Egg Hunt
Event Update - Based on the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19 and recommendations from public health officials to limit public gatherings, the Elmhurst Park District is canceling all programs and rentals as well as closing all facilities beginning Saturday, March 14, through Sunday, April 5. All permitted uses of athletic fields will also be cancelled. This includes the cancellation of the Bridal Party at Wilder Mansion on April 2 and the new Adult Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at Sugar Creek Golf Course.
Over the past several years, the Elmhurst Park District has heard loud and clear that residents want more adult fun, and staff is excited to fulfill that request. After the success of Bags, Brew & BBQ in summer 2019, a new Adult Egg Hunt has been added to the line-up of events for 2020.
“Park District offerings are no longer just for kids,” said Director of Marketing Kari Felkamp, “Adults and parents are constantly worrying about jobs, bills, kids, and hectic schedules, and they want to take time to play too. And it’s so important to have an opportunity to do that!”
The new Adult Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar Creek Golf Course, 500 E. Van Buren St., in Villa Park. The cost is $20 per person. It will allow adults ages 21 and up to enjoy lunch, an adult beverage, and the chance to hunt for eggs filled with amazing prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants and breweries, a wine tasting, a foursome with cart to Sugar Creek Golf Course, a 3 month fitness membership to Courts Plus, a rolling cooler, and best of all, a $500 grand prize courtesy of local Compass realtor, Kelly Stetler.
“Our first adult game night went incredibly well last summer, and we heard from a lot of people that they want us to do more,” said Felkamp, “We offer a lot of events for families and kids, but this is a unique chance for adults to be a kid again and have a little fun!”
Registration for this new event takes place on Saturday, February 29 at 8:00 a.m. on the Park District registration site.
