Elmhurst Park District partners with D205 to offer Club Ed. E-learning program
The start of the school year has been stressful for many families as parents struggle to balance work with remote and hybrid learning. Staff at the Elmhurst Park District and School District 205 have been working behind the scenes for weeks to come up with the best solution to help as many families as possible during this tough transition.
Club Ed. is a new program for children K-5 that will offer a convenient, self-directed E-Learning opportunity at various D205 and Park District locations. This program will provide a structured schedule that alternates designated time for self-directed E-Learning and recreational activities including indoor/outdoor games, arts and crafts. Children will be in a group of 15 participants or less in a format that meets all CDC health and safety guidelines. Face coverings will be required at all times except while eating.
Club Ed. is slated to start on Monday, September 21 and will be held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The weekly cost will be $315 per child. Online registration will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10 at our registration page. If you do not currently have a household account, please be sure to create one prior to registration.
Club Ed. staff will coordinate the day’s activities around E-Learning schedules. Staff will not be able to assist children during E-Learning but will monitor them while on their chrome books.
This program will be able to accommodate children whether Elmhurst School District 205 is remote or hybrid. The number of available spaces for the program will be limited.
Efforts are underway to set up facilities, order supplies, and hire and train the appropriate number of staff. The Park District is making every effort to hire the necessary number of staff required to run the program but cannot guarantee that this goal will be achieved in time for the anticipated start date of September 21.
