All dancers interested in auditioning for the 2023-2024 season are invited to audition on Saturday, July 15. During auditions, dancers will perform specific skills as well as dance combinations, which will give our choreographers a sense of each dancer's ability. You will be contacted with your specific audition time after July 1. Once auditions are complete, you will be notified of a placement, whether it is with the Impact Dance Company or another suitable class for your dancer. Although there is no charge to audition, registration is required.

What is Impact Dance Company?
Impact Dance Company is Elmhurst Park District’s award-winning competitive dance company. On Impact we focus on performance opportunities, good character, and having fun. Impact has six different competitive teams available to dancers who are 6–14 years old.
Impact has a mixture of audition-based, and non-audition-based teams. We are an inclusive team with options for dancers of all levels and abilities. Impact is a great way to get your dancers out of their shell and into the spotlight! Dancers on the audition-based teams (Petite Dance, Mini Dance & Junior Dance Companies) will typically attend three regional dance competitions in the spring, the Dance Recital in May, and one national dance competition at the end of June.
Dancers on non-audition teams (Mini Poms, Junior Poms & Hip Hop Companies) will typically attend three regional dance competitions in the spring, and will end their season with the Dance Recital in May. Nonaudition teams do not attend Nationals in June. Dancers on Mini & Junior Dance Company will potentially have the option of signing up for an Impact Solo, Duet, or Trio. These dancers and routines are picked by the Impact Company Director and are not guaranteed. Dancers who are interested in being picked for a specialty dance will have to fill out a form at Impact auditions.
Impact does not attend dance competitions until the spring. Impact dancers spend the fall and winter practicing their choreography and technique for upcoming competitions.
Audition-Based Teams
Petite Dance Company (Ages 6-8)
Petite Dance Company is a NO CUT audition-based team that focuses on tap and jazz technique. Dancers on Petite Company will learn a total of three competitive dances for the season, one tap routine, one jazz routine, and an Impact company production dance. Petite Dance Company meets once a week to work on their skills and choreography.
This team is a great first step to becoming a competitive dancer. Petite Dance Company is for dancers who have some previous dance experience, but would like to challenge themselves! While there are no cuts and everyone who auditions does make this team, dancers must show up to auditions to officially be placed on Petite Dance Company.
Mini Dance Company (Ages 8-10)
Mini Dance Company is an audition-based team that focuses on tap and jazz technique. Dancers on Mini Company will learn a total of three competitive dances for the season, one tap routine, one jazz routine, and an Impact company production dance. Mini Dance Company meets twice a week to work on their skills and choreography.
This team is a fun way to build confidence and character in your young dancers! This is an audition-based team. To be placed on this team, your dancers must attend auditions, and then be offered a place on Mini Dance Company.
Junior Dance Company (Ages 10-14)
Junior Dance Company is an audition-based team that focuses on jazz, lyrical, artistry and expression. Dancers on Junior Company will learn a total of three competitive dances for the season, one lyrical routine, one jazz routine, and an Impact company production dance. Junior Dance Company meets twice a week to work on their technique and choreography.
This team is perfect for serious dancers who are looking to expand their dance technique and artistic abilities. This is an audition based team. To be placed on this team, your dancers must attend auditions, and then be offered a place on Junior Dance Company.
Non-Audition based teams include: Mini Poms Company (ages 6-8), Junior Poms Company (ages 9-11) and Hip Hop Company (ages 8-11).
