Seventy Five New Trees to be Planted in Elmhurst Parks in 2017
If you see new trees being planted in your parks, it is all part of the Spring Tree Planting project. Every year the Park District plants new trees, some for general landscape, some for tree memorials, and some to replace trees removed for maintenance needs. Included in this year’s planting were 15 new trees at York Commons to replace some of the trees that were removed due to the York Commons storm water maintenance project.
With this in mind, this year, at their February 27, 2017 board meeting, the Park Board approved a bid of $25,671 to plant 75 new trees throughout your parks, assuring that shade and beauty will be here for many years to come.
