Canine Corner Rules

  • All patrons will abide by the Elmhurst Park District Code of Conduct and Park and Facility Use Ordinance. Failure to abide by the rules and/or regulations set forth can result in a warning, suspension, fine or revocation of Canine Corner membership.
  • The fenced dog area is reserved for Canine Corner members and their registered dogs only.
    • Members must have the District-issued lanyard with ID card visible at all times when inside the fenced dog area.
    • Member dogs must wear the District-issued dog tag when inside the fenced dog area.
  • Dogs must be on leash when entering and exiting the park. While in the off-leash area, pet owners must maintain voice control of their dog(s).
  • Gates are to be closed securely following usage and may not be propped open.
  • Dogs must be at least 6 months of age to enter the park.
  • Maximum number of dogs per adult is two. Both dogs must remain in the same area with their owner.
  • Dogs with a known history of, or who exhibit, aggressive behaviors are prohibited. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and could result in the revocation of membership.
  • Large dogs (30 lbs. and over) are not allowed in the small dog area.
  • Each handler must be at least 16 years of age. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the fenced area of the park. Children between the ages of 10-15 must be supervised by an adult and behave appropriately.
  • Pet owners are required to carry and use removal devices for pet excrement. Owners must immediately clean up after their dogs and dispose of waste appropriately. Owners who fail to clean up after their dogs may be fined not more than $1,000 for each offense per Park and Facility Use Ordinance 9.4.
  • Owners must refill any holes made by their dog.
  • Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the park.
  • Spike, prong, and choke collars must be removed from the dog when inside the park.
  • Food and alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the park.
  • The use of tobacco products is prohibited on or within 15 feet of all District properties.
  • Please refrain from bringing any glass containers into the park.
  • No refunds or pro-rated refunds will be given.  
  • The Elmhurst Park District reserves the right to close this facility at any time or remove any person(s) and/or dog(s) for any reason.

Canine Cove Splash Pad at Canine Corner Rules 

  • Dogs Only! Canine Cove is for pups only—no human playtime in the water.
  • Stay & Supervise! Humans need to keep an eye on your furry friend(s) at all times.
  • No “Ruff” Play! Aggressive dogs will need to take a time out.
  • No Snacks or Glass! Please keep food, treats, and glass containers outside the splash zone.
  • Leash Up Outside! Off-leash fun is allowed in designated areas only.
  • Healthy Pups Only! All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and free from illness.
  • No Tiny Tails Under 6 Months! Puppies must be old enough to join the fun.
  • Keep It Chill! Excessive barking? Time to paws and take a break.
  • Scoop the Poop! No one likes a messy puddle—please clean up after your pup.
  • Play at Your Own Risk! The Elmhurst Park District is not responsible for injuries or incidents.
  • Paws for Safety! If you hear a big boom or see a sky flash, it’s time to take a break! The water feature will be closed for 30 minutes after the last rumble or lightning sighting. Stay safe and come back for more tail-wagging fun!
