The Elmhurst Park District was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report for 2024. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and this is the eighteenth consecutive year the Park District has been recognized.
"Demonstrating financial responsibility and transparency is fundamental to our commitment to serving the Elmhurst community effectively," said Jim Rogers, Executive Director of the Elmhurst Park District.
"Receiving this recognition for eighteen consecutive years underscores the dedication that both the Park Board and staff have toward fulfilling this commitment."
The GFOA award is meant to encourage state and local governments to extract information from their annual comprehensive financial report in order to produce high quality popular annual financial reports specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public and other interested parties without a background in public finance.
