That's a wrap on another great summer season! The Elmhurst Park District is proud to be one of the largest employers of youth in the community and without their hard work, summer in Elmhurst would not be the same. From camps and concessions to pools and parks, seasonal staff play a huge part in creating memories for the community.
Back in the spring, StarGuard Elite, the District’s partner in lifeguard training and aquatic risk prevention, had presented the District with the Elite Safety Award, which recognizes aquatic organizations around the world that consistently excel in promoting a strong culture of safety and innovation. Elmhurst was the only agency in the Chicagoland area to receive the award. The summer 2025 staff reaffirmed the District’s commitment to safety when they received five-star audits for each of the three audits conducted by StarGuard this season.
"We enjoyed yet another fantastic summer at the pools, all thanks to our dedicated Aquatics staff," said Sarah Lagesse, Director of Recreation. "The five-star audits reflect their ongoing commitment to keeping the community safe. We are truly grateful for the hard work our summer staff contributes and eagerly anticipate next year’s pool season."
