Parks staff were out at Pick Park on January 2, 2024 removing five trees in anticipation of the construction of the new playground this spring. The removals were necessary for the construction of the playground and installation of the park amenities.
The plans call for the planting of five new trees and ten shrubs along with other native perennial plants. The remaining trees on the property will not be removed and have been incorporated into the site design. These trees will be pruned later this winter to improve their structure and health.
