Since the passage of the Park District referendum in November 2024, staff has focused on design development and planning for the approved referendum projects. These projects include a new Wagner Community Center, a community bandshell with permanent heated restroom in Wilder Park, permanent heated restrooms in Eldridge and Crestview Park and along the Prairie Path and the converting of a grass field to artificial turf at Berens Park.
Community engagement and education has been a foundational piece of the Park District’s referendum process. Continuing this approach, Elmhurst residents are invited to keep up-to-date on referendum project process by visiting epd.org/referendum.
The webpage will serve as a single reliable destination for visitors to track progress and view timelines for each of the projects. The webpage also includes a map, project landing pages, and links to referendum FAQS and news items.
The Park District encourages the community to check out the page and stay informed on the future of Elmhurst parks!
