The park features a soccer field and was the former home of the Park District garden plots. Beginning in 2017, garden plots are located at Marjorie Davis Park.
The park land was acquired in 1973 for $72,000 with proceeds from a bond issue. It was named Golden Meadows Park in a 'Name the Park' contest in 1975. Before Elmhurst Memorial Hospital constructed a permanent helipad, helicopters were permitted for emergency landings and take-offs from Golden Meadows Park in the mid-'90s.
