The People for Elmhurst Parks Foundation invites you to put away your heels and break out your hi-tops and playground attire at the ‘Be A Kid Again’ FUNdraiser for the Playground for Everyone on Saturday, February 20 from 7-10:30 p.m. at Courts Plus.
The Playground for Everyone is a universal accessible playground which will allow children with special needs to fully access the playground and play alongside other kids. It is planned for construction at Butterfield Park in late summer 2016.
The playground’s cost will exceed $600,000, far more than the $350,000 budgeted by the Elmhurst Park District to replace a typical playground. While over $130,000 has been raised from community groups and individuals, the hope is that the “Be A Kid Again” FUNdraiser will help the Park District reach its goal of making The Playground for Everyone a reality.
Fundraiser attendees can look forward to feeling like a kid again because we’ll be bringing the playground fun to you! Actual playground equipment planned for the Playground for Everyone will be available indoors at Courts Plus for attendees to sit, climb and spin on while enjoying live music and entertainment. Games and other activities, such as live and silent auctions, will keep the fun going all night.
Tickets are $100/person and includes complimentary valet parking at the door, food, beer and wine, with cocktails available for purchase. Remember to dress for playtime as we take a break from being adults and remember how fun it is to be a kid! \
