Another community organization has chosen to join the People for Elmhurst’s Park Foundation in its commitment to bringing The Playground for Everyone to Elmhurst. Last month, the Lions Club of Elmhurst presented a $5,000 donation to the project. This donation will add to the more than $150,000 already received in donations toward the Foundation’s goal of $250,000.
The universal playground, scheduled to be constructed at Butterfield Park in summer 2016, will be a fully accessible playground for children with disabilities. The vision for the playground is one of inclusion; a place where every child can participate in all elements of the design.
