Lizzadro Museum - History of Wilder Park Location

In May of 1961 the Elmhurst Park District entered into an agreement with the Joseph Lizzadro Family Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, to provide land for the construction and operation of the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art (Museum).  The Elmhurst Park Board felt that the addition of the museum in Wilder Park would be advantageous to the Park District and the citizens of Elmhurst.

The agreement states that the Museum is responsible for all operations of the Museum and costs associated therewith.  The Elmhurst Park District, per the agreement, maintains the landscaping and provides parking lot lighting.
