Public Meeting to Discuss Conrad Fischer Park Updates

  • Conrad Fischer

Elmhurst Park District is looking for your input! Conrad Fischer Park is scheduled to receive a face lift in the summer of 2018. The District plans to replace the playground, redevelop the tennis courts and implement other general park improvements.

The District is interested in hearing from individuals with children or grandchildren ages 2-5 to replace the current playground equipment geared toward that age group. However, anyone who has an interest in the planned improvements is invited to attend a public meeting to be held Wednesday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, located at 888 Wilson St., Elmhurst.

The playground replacement is part of the District’s capital planning efforts, where nearly every year one of the District’s 18 playgrounds is budgeted to be renovated, providing an 18-20 year lifecycle for each playground.

The information garnered at the meeting will be used to prepare a preliminary master plan for the park and playground, which will then be presented to the community online and with a survey to collect feedback.  Following this, a final plan will be developed and presented to the Park Board for review and approval.

Those in attendance will be entered into a raffle for a FREE Elmhurst Park District summer 2018 punch card (20 swims) which provides free entrance to East End Pool, Smalley Pool, and The Hub Splash Pad.

Children are welcome to attend the public meeting but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

If you have any questions or are unable to attend but wish to contribute your ideas, please contact Miranda Lovato, Landscape Architect, at (630) 993-8939.
