Registration changes highlighted in upcoming Winter Brochure

The Elmhurst Park District Winter Brochure is out for delivery and should be arriving at resident’s doorsteps soon. With the arrival of the brochure, residents should note changes to the first day of registration for Elmhurst Park District programs beginning with this winter season. Based on feedback from residents, the decision was made to hold gymnastics registration on a separate day and time in an effort to reduce the high volume on the District’s current software system.

A survey was recently conducted to gauge the best day and time for gymnastics registration. Overwhelmingly, residents chose Saturday, December 1 at 8:00 a.m. Registration for general programs will then be held on Saturday, December 8 at 8:00 a.m. Non-residents will be able to sign-up for programs beginning Monday, December 17 at 8:00 a.m.

“Conducting multiple days of registration is common practice for park districts but something we haven’t needed to do in Elmhurst,” said Executive Director Jim Rogers, “But within the last year, it’s been made clear that our current software is no longer able to manage the large volume of registration we have. We’re hoping this change will help alleviate some of that burden on the system.”

Residents will also want to check out the upcoming community events highlighted in the brochure, including a 2019 Special Events Calendar, which lists all the free community events scheduled by the Park District for 2019. It’s the perfect way to plan for fun all year long!
