Join our virtual Earth Day Contest & Celebration this week and you'll have a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant! We've put together a list of activities - give one a try and send us a photo of your project @elmhurstparkdistrict on Facebook or Instagram to be entered into the contest! Entries are due by Friday, April 24. At-Home activities include:
- Color a picture from the EPA to hang in the window
- Draw a picture of your favorite Elmhurst park or make a video telling us about your favorite park
- Photo or video of you planting/gardening in your yard
- Draw a picture or Happy Earth Day message in sidewalk chalk
- Make recycled plastic egg music shakers (rice, beans, popcorn)
- Make a bird feeder : Any kind will work but you can always use a stale/end piece of bread, peanut butter, and bird seed (if you don't have bird seed, use black sunflower seeds, dried fruit, raisins, unsalted peanuts, millet, uncooked oats, plain air-popped popcorn (not seeds)
- Make some delicious "dirt" (pudding/gummy worms)
