Opportunities at Elmhurst Park District pools expand in anticipation of Phase 5

  • 2021 Pool Information

It may feel more like summer as usual at the pools if the State enters Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan! The State appears to be on track to enter Phase 5 on Friday, June 11, and in anticipation of that happening, staff is excited to announce updated plans for East End and Smalley Pool.

Pandemic-related capacity limits and reservations will no longer be required, hours at both pools will be expanded, lounge chairs will be available, slides and diving boards will be open, no temperature checks will be done, and pool pass sales will return!

The East End Pool regular season will run from Saturday, June 12-Sunday, August 15 with additional days through Labor Day. Regular season hours will be Monday through Friday, 5:30-9:30 a.m. for morning swim (lap swimming and water exercise), 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for adult swim, and 12:00-7:00 p.m. for open swim. On Saturdays and Sundays, open swim will be 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Smalley Pool will be open from Saturday, June 19 through Sunday, August 15. Hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. View the complete schedule, including 4th of July hours, online at epd.org.

Starting June 1 at 9:00 a.m., residents can purchase a pool pass for $60 per person ages 2 and up and nonresidents can purchase a pass for $120. Skip the line, and purchase your pool pass online at epd.org! Photos can be taken for an ID card at either pool when they open for the season.

In addition to pool passes, patrons have two other options to pay. Punch cards can be purchased for $140 for residents and are valid for 20 visits. A discounted punch pass for senior residents ages 62 and up is available for $112. Patrons can also choose to pay daily admission. Fees are available online.

Concession stands will remain closed this summer as that space will be needed for pandemic-related staff requirements. At this time, the Illinois Department of Public Health swimming pool guidelines still require masks for patrons when not in the water but staff is awaiting updated guidelines for Phase 5.
