Permanent exterior doors arrive to Centennial Recreation Center

  • Centennial Recreation Center, Elmhurst, IL

The Park District had a special delivery this week, with the arrival and installation of exterior doors for the newly redeveloped Centennial Recreation Center, located at 155 E. St. Charles Road.

Due to supply chain issues, the exterior doors were delayed in arriving in time for the opening of Centennial Recreation Center in June. During the interim period, the Park District installed temporary exterior doors and frames, painting the panels to ensure the temporary fix was attractive and operational.

Centennial Recreation Center (CRC), opened in June and is the new home to adult programming at the Park District. Art programs, fitness programs, and social events are available at the CRC. Those ages 62 and over can become a CRC Member, with benefits including discounted member pricing on monthly luncheons, a mailed newsletter and free participation in monthly Bingo.

The facility is also the home of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage in Elmhurst, an organization which provides counseling and other support services to seniors and senior caregivers. The combination of Park District and social services under one roof gives seniors in the community easy access to multiple health and recreational opportunities in one visit.

Registration for programs at the CRC can be completed on our registration page. Learn more about becoming a CRC Member at our facility page.
