The new Wagner Community Center will accommodate more residents and feature: 

  • Free three-lane walking/jogging track
  • Gymnasium for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and other sports
  • Artificial turf field for soccer, football, baseball and other sports
  • Larger spaces for dance and gymnastics programs
  • Flexible multi-purpose spaces for more programming and community gatherings
  • Indoor play area for children
  • Dedicated early childhood and preschool spaces with a secure entrance

When did Wagner Community Center close for construction?

The facility's final day of operation was Sunday, October 19. It closed for construction on Monday, October 20.

Where will classes be held during construction?

Most Wagner programs and services were relocated to other Elmhurst Park District facilities this fall. Dance and gymnastics programs will have a new home at a newly-leased space at 185 Industrial Drive in Elmhurst—just down the street from Mariano’s!

Park District staff will move into 185 Industrial Drive and prepare for the second session of fall gymnastics programs, which will begin December 1, 2025. Read more about program locations >>

The anticipated return to the new Wagner Community Center is Fall 2027.

The main number will remain (630) 993-8900 and you can still reach Registration staff by calling it. 

Where should I go for registration if I used to go to the Wagner Community Center?

Registration will now take place at the Kies Recreation Center at 155 E St Charles Road (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm), and the Administrative Office at 375 W 1st Street (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm).
