ELMHURST PARK DISTRICT BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS

April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election for Park District Commissioner

Prospective candidates seeking the office of Park Commissioner for the Elmhurst Park District for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 6, 2027 may pick up packets at the Elmhurst Park District Administrative Office at 375 West First Street, Elmhurst, IL beginning August 25, 2026 Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. for the office of Park Board Commissioner. Candidate packets are provided as a courtesy of the Elmhurst Park District. Each candidate is urged to seek legal counsel to determine individual requirements for running for elected office.

Potential candidates can begin circulating petitions on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Candidate petitions or certificates of nomination will be accepted beginning November 16, 2026 through November 23, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There are three seats available for a six-year term.  Candidates must give notice on the Statement of Candidacy and Nominating Petition sheets for the term they wish to be elected.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, unless otherwise noted. Regularly scheduled board meetings falling on a holiday will be held on the following Tuesday.  The public is always welcomed to attend the open meetings and is encouraged to participate during the public comment portion of the meeting. Meetings are typically held at the Administrative Office, 375 W. First Street, at 7 pm unless otherwise noted on the meeting agenda.

Any person requiring a reasonable accommodation to participate in this Park District activity should call (630) 993-8900 and ask for the ADA Compliance Officer, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. within 48 hours prior to the meeting. Requests for a qualified interpreter require a five (5) day advance notice.

The following are the regularly scheduled Board meeting dates for 2025. Meeting dates are subject to change. All meetings and any changes will be posted per Illinois Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120.

    • Park Board meeting on January 26 is being moved to the second-floor community room at Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 W Butterfield Road, due to a planned painting project at Wilder Mansion. Other Park District facilities were unavailable due to programming. The meeting will be held at 7 pm.

Governing Body

The Elmhurst Park District is a separate governing unit which levies its own tax to provide park facilities and recreation for district residents. Innovative leadership starts with our community-elected, seven-member Board of Commissioners. Members of the Board of Commissioners are elected to a six-year term and serve without compensation.
