Wilder Park Conservatory & Greenhouse Restoration Project - Light It Up!

The past two weeks have been filled with activity at the Wilder Park Conservatory and Greenhouse. New light fixtures featuring an antique bronze finish that fits the time period of the Conservatory‘s original construction were installed in the Greenhouse. The arborvitae along the south side of the Greenhouse was removed and the area was re-graded. The removal of the arborvitae will allow more light to penetrate the Greenhouse and Conservatory, improving growing conditions. The installation of glass panels for the Propagating House and Greenhouse is nearly complete. The glass installation is a milestone for the project and will also allow the tradesmen to work indoors, reducing weather-related construction delays. New doors were hung in the Greenhouse and Propagating House, which will improve accessibility and security at the facility. Lastly, carpenters are installing the frames for the wood windows on the Conservatory. The windows are a key component of the Conservatory restoration.
