The Bicentennial Fountain and its surrounding area in Wild Meadows Trace, will receive some improvements in spring 2018, just in time for residents to enjoy the space this coming summer.
With the goal of maintaining Park District amenities, the Park Board approved the $41,472 project at the February 12, 2018 board meeting. The project work includes replacing the concrete pavement surrounding the fountain, replacing the benches and adding new benches, adding a bike rack and trash receptacles, as well as replacing the drinking fountain at York Road and the Prairie Path.
The new drinking fountain will feature a bottle filling station and pet water fountain, making it a perfect pit stop for Prairie Path users and their four-legged companions.
Construction will begin as soon as weather permits this spring, with a planned completion date of June 1, 2018.
