Please Be Mindful of Your Dogs in the Parks

It is finally beautiful outside and even our favorite four-legged friends want to get out and have some fun. As the temperatures get warmer and our parks get busier, it is important to remember to always follow the rules on posted signs and be respectful to all community members enjoying the parks.

As a friendly reminder, the Elmhurst Park District does not allow unleashed dogs within parks, and the maximum allowed length of a lead is six feet. It’s important to remember that even though a dog may be well-behaved and friendly, not all park patrons want to be greeted by our pets, and could be allergic or fearful.

Please also remember to pick up after your dog. Did you know that the Park District provides dog waste bags in 27 locations in 19 parks?

We’re ready for a fun summer for the whole family and that includes our pets. Please be respectful and remember to leash and pick up after your dogs. Have fun!
