Park District Administrative Office to Receive Exterior Improvements
At their May 25, 2016 meeting, the Park Board approved a bid of $63,800 from Professional Paving and Concrete Co., Inc. of Glen Ellyn, Illinois to redesign the front entrance stairway at the Park District Administrative Office in order to increase accessibility and safety, and to repair the sidewalks and driveway entrances on First Street. This improvement project will also include paving the visitor parking spots directly across from the front entrance along the train tracks.

Board Reviews Plan to Expedite Stormwater Project in Golden Meadows Park
The Elmhurst Park District Board of Park Commissioners reviewed the proposed Golden Meadows Park stormwater IGA prepared by the City of Elmhurst on April 13, 2016 after discussions and review of the agreement took place last week with the Park District attorney and with the Park Board’s stormwater subcommittee. In an effort to expedite the process and enable the City to help residents in the Pine Street neighborhood as quickly as possible, the subcommittee recommended a new sequence of events aimed at streamlining the agreement. Park Board Receives Proposed Golden Meadows IGA
The Park Board received the proposed Intergovernmental Agreement for the use of Golden Meadows for stormwater detention from the City of Elmhurst on the afternoon of March 22, 2016. The stormwater subcommittee did not have time to review the proposed IGA prior to the March 24, 2016 stormwater subcommittee meeting. The Park District's attorney, District subcommittee members and staff are currently reviewing the IGA with the intent of Park Board discussions at the April 13, 2016 Park Board Meeting. Park Board Proposes Storm Water Management Plan
To help address storm water management, open space preservation, economic development and education, the Park District created a potential plan that may appeal to the City of Elmhurst, School District 205, the Berteau property developer, and most importantly, Elmhurst residents. As Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare has struck a deal to sell the property on Berteau to a developer, the Park District suggests that when the developer applies to the City to subdivide the property, the City would trade property it owns adjoining the Berteau property to the developer.
